Coastal Erosion Mitigation at Stz'uminus First Nation

Stz'uminus First Nation proposes to complete coastal erosion mitigation along two shorelines on Chemainus IR 13 located in Kulleet Bay. The mitigation strategy includes beach nourishment with coarse sand and gravel and construction of headlands via rock armour. The proposed mitigations will dissipate wave energy and protect the vulnerable areas of the coastline. Green Shores certification through the Stewardship Centre for British Columbia will be applied for once the project is complete.
