Katit Creek Lower Bridge Replacement
This is a non-designated project on federal lands or outside Canada. The listed authorities are responsible for the project assessment.
Replacement of the log-stringer lower bridge with a new bridge structure consisting of precast concrete box stringers and precast concrete spread footing abutments. This will entail reconstruction of the road approaches to achieve a higher deck elevation and thus a deeper channel to reduce the risk of future debris torrents. Improvements to the creek channel will include reconstruction of the channel at the lower bridge to widen the channel and lower the High-Water Level, and armouring the channel banks to mitigate erosion potential from normal creek discharges.
