The Proposed Project
Pasqua First Nation is proposing to construct a new solid waste transfer station. The solid waste transfer station facility will include construction of an access road, a small building, roadways, collection bins and retaining walls at drop off/unloading locations. The project will be designed for a 25-year design horizon and will support a projected population of 3,473 people by the year 2049. The new transfer station will be located approximately 300 metres southwest of the existing Pasqua First Nation sewage lagoon, and will require a disturbed area of approximately 8,100 square meters. The site is currently undeveloped and consists of grassland and brush. The project will involve clearing of the land, topsoil stripping, grading and leveling.
