Public notice 

New Float Home and Pile Installations - Queensgate Marina – Public comments invited 

February 22, 2023 – As part of its Project and Environmental Review process, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority must determine whether the proposed New Float Home and Pile Installations - Queensgate Marina, located in the Water Lot Fronting 700-800 South Dyke Road, New Westminster, BC, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Written comments to be received by March 23, 2023. 

To help inform this determination and a decision on whether or not to approve the proposed project, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website. In addition, your contact information may be shared with third parties, e.g., the tenant, other relevant agencies, to help respond to your questions and inform possible mitigations.

The proposed project 

The float owners, proposes to install a new prefabricated float home and two 356-millmetre (mm) diameter steel pipe piles (the "Project") at 700 - 800 South Dyke Road, New Westminster. The float home is being manufactured offsite by International Marine Floatation Systems Ltd. The Project will be completed with a marine spud derrick equipped with a vibratory and/or drop hammer and would be completed within approximately one day.
