Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Demolition of Building Work Point 1068 at CFB Esquimalt

December 21, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Work Point Building 1068 at CFB Esquimalt has come to the end of its life cycle and is to be disposed of. Once drawings and specifications are complete, the building will be demolished by a contractor through Defence Construction Canada. The parking area adjacent to the building will be used as a laydown area during demolition.
